"The Way The Light Dances in Istanbul," by Dallas artist Skip Noah at the Dahlia Woods Gallery, brings windows of the artist's vision into view.
Skip Noah's most recent art showing, "Perchance to Dream," at the Dahlia Woods Gallery lasted a mere month but made an impression on the local art community.
Opened in 2005 by local artist Dahlia Woods and her husband, Jonathan, the Dahlia Woods Gallery serves as a showcase for the local artist community. The Woods, longtime Lakewood residents, came upon an opportunity to realize a dream.
Housed in a three-story contemporary building, the Woods couple converted the bottom floor of the building into the gallery that owner-and-artist Dahlia Woods, always wanted. Known for her colorful and whimsical watercolors, Woods has made a name for herself not only locally but nationally as well.
What once was a living area, the first floor gallery now holds a cozy collection of local artists's work, primarily on canvas, but also media such as mosaic. In fact, the next showing at the gallery will be "Smoke and Mirrors," featuring local mosaic artist Jamie Pink.
The opening reception party is set for April 17 and the display will run through May 21. Also on show will be lithographs by Andrew Wick.
