Leigh Ann Ellis, board trustee representing District 3, wants to keep her seat at the Dallas ISD horseshoe because she believes the district’s academic performance is improving.

In her way stand three challengers.

They are Bruce Parrott, spouse of a former District 3 board trustee; Penny Anderly, public relations and political consultant; and Beatrice Martinez, real estate broker and LULAC director.

Parrott recently gained the endorsement of the political action committee called Dallas Friends for Public Education, a group of parents, teachers, and taxpayers who want to replace DISD trustees up for re-election.
