With a strikingly accurate outfit and moves, Johnny Rockit sings Elvis classics to a receptive crowd.
For the 10th year in a row, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Dallas Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie hosted a luau to support the Jimmy Durante Fund and the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center.
The luau is designed to benefit and raise awareness of abused children. Throughout the year, the Eagles Aerie raises more than $7,000 for the charity with various types of fundraisers, including barbecues, a chili cook-off, and dinner parties.
Members of the Eagles Aerie volunteer their time to help raise money — whether they help set up, cook, organize, or clean up after events, every person takes part in supporting local charities in some way and becomes an integral member of the Eagles Aerie.
Members provided a buffet dinner with a array of dishes, salads, deserts, and last but not least, a roast pig as the main course. Hawaiian decorations adorned the main room of the Aerie and also included a tiki bar, which offered specialty drinks.
Optional, but highly encouraged, were hula skirts for the Aerie men.
